Research and Collections at
the Alice Phelan Sullivan Library

The Alice Phelan Sullivan Library is a non-circulating research library that includes books, archives, manuscript materials, maps, newspapers, periodicals and ephemera. Researchers are welcome; appointments are advised.

Planning Your Visit
Please call the librarian at 415.957.1849, ext.43, or contact the library by letter or e-mail (pkeats@californiapioneers.org) to set up an appointment. Please include your name, contact information and a brief message about what you are researching. You will be contacted about what our library has to offer you, and at that time, we will set up an appointment for you as well. By contacting us in advance, we can have the relevant research materials available for you on the day of your visit.

Reading Room Hours
The Reading Room is open Wednesdays through Fridays, 10am – 5pm. Appointments are normally scheduled for Wednesdays. The Library is open to the public free of charge.
